Every live camera on the Outer Banks we could find, on one page. The ones that play right here run from Kill Devil Hills to Ocracoke: Twiddy’s beach cam in Duck, Avalon Pier and the Wright Brothers monument, the Town of Manteo’s four waterfront cams, and Silver Lake harbor on Ocracoke. Below those are the Hatteras Inlet ferry docks, which the state refreshes every few minutes, and then every pier, beach and harbor cam we know of that has to be watched on its own site, because the service behind it only lets its owner embed it.
We checked each one on September 6, 2026. A camera that is dark is usually just night, weather on the lens, or the owner’s stream restarting. Every camera on this page belongs to the business, town or program named under it, and every one of those names is a link back to them.

Duck — the beach from the Twiddy office
Twiddy & Company’s camera looks out over the ocean beach at Duck, 24 hours a day. It is the most-watched Outer Banks camera we found on YouTube — a couple of dozen people had it open when we checked.
Manteo — the waterfront, four ways
The Town of Manteo streams four cameras around Shallowbag Bay: the town marina, the Roanoke Marshes lighthouse at the end of the boardwalk, and two along Queen Elizabeth Avenue, the waterfront street. Good for checking the weather on Roanoke Island, the boats at the docks, and what the sound is doing.
Kill Devil Hills — the pier and the monument
Avalon Pier at milepost 6 points its camera down the pier and out at the break, which is the quickest way to see what the surf is doing in the middle of the beach. The Town of Kill Devil Hills keeps a camera on the Wright Brothers monument — not a beach view, but the fastest read on whether the sky over the middle Banks is clear.
Ocracoke — Silver Lake harbor
The harbor at Ocracoke village, where the ferries and the charter boats tie up. The Ocracoke Harbor Inn runs four cameras around Silver Lake, including one underwater at the dock; this is the wide view of the harbor, and the rest are on their page.
Outer Banks Blue in Kitty Hawk streams a beach cam to its YouTube channel now and then rather than around the clock, so we link to it instead of leaving a dead player here.
Hatteras Inlet ferry docks
The state’s cameras at the two ends of the Hatteras–Ocracoke crossing. These are still pictures, not video; each one carries the date and time it was taken along the top, and this page reloads them every six minutes. If the Hatteras side shows a line of cars, the wait is real. Our ferry guide has the schedules and what the line usually means.

Pier, beach and harbor cams you watch on their own sites
North to south, and every one of these is run by the town, the pier, the resort or the research program that owns it — each name links straight to them, not to an aggregator. All of them were up when we checked.

Before you go by what the camera shows
A camera tells you whether the sun is out and the surf is up. For the numbers, start with Today on the Outer Banks, which is rebuilt every morning with the rip current risk, surf height, water temperature and tides for each stretch of beach. Then the rest of the live pages we keep: weather and radar, water temperature, which beach ramps are open, rebuilt every morning, and the ferries. The sunrise and sunset times tell you when the cams come back to life.
Asked and answered
Is there a live webcam of the Hatteras ferry?
Yes. The state runs cameras at both ends of the Hatteras to Ocracoke crossing, on the Hatteras village dock and on South Dock at the north end of Ocracoke. They are still images refreshed every few minutes rather than video, and they are on this page.
Which Outer Banks webcams run 24 hours a day?
Seven of the cameras on this page run around the clock and play right here: Twiddy at Duck, Avalon Pier and the Wright Brothers monument in Kill Devil Hills, the Town of Manteo’s four, and Silver Lake harbor on Ocracoke. The rest of the pier and beach cams also run all day but have to be watched on their owners’ sites.
Why can’t I see the pier cams here?
Some pier and beach cams sit on a streaming service that only lets the camera owner embed the player, so a box here would simply never load and we link to the owner instead. The ones that do play here are on services that allow it, and each is credited and linked to whoever runs the camera. Why is the camera black or frozen?
At night the ocean cams show very little. In rain or salt spray the lens fogs. A YouTube stream also restarts now and then, and the player shows an error for a minute or two until it comes back. Refresh the page; if a cam stays down for days, the owner knows.
Is there a webcam at Jennette’s Pier?
There is a camera at the pier, but it is not one we can show here or send you to directly. What we can give you for that stretch of beach is the hourly surf forecast for Jennette’s Pier on our water temperature page, and the SurfChex cam a mile up the beach at Abalone Street, which is linked above.

The cameras that play here are public live streams whose hosts allow other sites to show them: Twiddy & Company and the Town of Manteo on YouTube, and Avalon Pier, the Town of Kill Devil Hills and the Ocracoke Harbor Inn on IPCamLive. Each one is credited to its owner and links back to them, nothing is overlaid on the picture, and any owner who would rather not appear here can say so at hello@obxmaps.com and it comes down the same day. The ferry dock pictures are the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s own camera snapshots.
Every linked camera was opened on September 6, 2026 and found working, and every link goes to the town, pier, resort or research program that runs the camera rather than to an aggregator. Those feeds sit on streaming services that allow embedding only by the owner, which is why they are links here and not players.
