Are there National Park Service campgrounds on the Outer Banks?

Yes. The National Park Service operates three campgrounds on Hatteras Island: Oregon Inlet Campground in Nags Head, Cape Point Campground in Buxton, and Frisco Campground near Frisco. There is also an NPS campground on Ocracoke Island. These are typically more affordable than private resorts and offer direct access to Cape Hatteras National Seashore beaches.
